Working with Local Schools
We are delighted to work with so many local schools. Our service is friendly and flexible and tailored to your needs.
Here’s a taste of what we can do for you.
Supply of Fiction & Non-fiction Books
We can supply books across the whole curriculum from Foundation Stage to Higher Education.
We offer competitive discounts and free and fast delivery, often with 24-48 hours.
We are happy to accept any size of order.
An invoice will be supplied at the time of delivery, payable within 30 days.
Author Events
Through our links with publishers we can arrange author visits to your school. Relevant books can be supplied for sale on the day on a sale or return basis. Free delivery and discounts still apply.
If you’ve arranged your own author visits, we’ll still happily supply books on a sale or return basis.
School Libraries
We are happy to offer assistance if you’re re-stocking or updating your library. We can give free advice and supply relevant stock lists and catalogues. This is complemented by our fast delivery service, discounts and free delivery, all tailored to your budget.
School Visits
We welcome visits from small groups of children (up to 12). Schools often bring pupils to see us as a reward for good progress for reading. We love to chat informally with pupils about the shop, bookselling and what to read next. Drinks and biscuits provided!
Book Celebrations & Awards
We celebrate World Book Day and National Poetry Day, and are proud to be the bookseller sponsor of The Brilliant Book Award, an annual award voted for by Key Stage 3 children in schools across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
What Schools Say About Us
“I have been a customer of The Bookcase for about 10 years and Jane and her invaluable team have been reliable, friendly and very much focussed and in touch with the needs of our local school community. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent book shop to anyone who is looking for an efficient and speedy service.” The Nottingham Emmanuel School
“Over the years I have grown tired of faceless corporations shipping books to schools simply for profit. I choose to use The Bookcase because they understand that education is more than this. Their involvement and dedication to getting pupils and students to read is first rate and if more retailers did this then my job would be easier in many ways. A business like The Bookcase allows you to deal with real people who share a love of books and learning. They know what you want and the ins and outs of your job and they fit in with your constraints. You can rely on them every time. Literarily amazing!” The Priory Academy School, Lincoln
